Well, I was expecting a sweep, but I suppose this Clippers team has a ton of size, so them sneaking away with one win isn't a huge surprise. (A couple of nice showings from my fellow University of Nebraska alumnus, Eric Piatkowski, though.) The Kings will be taking on the Jazz in the Western Conference Semis.

  1. Hey, I really like what you did with these all-time teams. Are you using basketball-reference.com to run these simulations? And did you see the tourney ESPN did with the Bulls taking home the prize? I was wondering if you would be willing to add more posts per page to make the blog easier to navigate. Also, would you be willing to add my blog to your blog roll, and I will do the same with yours? My blog is at blindsidescreen.blogspot.com, but some of my older articles are at basketballfantatic.blogspot.com and thesogoodbasketballblog.blogspot.com. You can e-mail me at seifeldeine@gmail.com. I think our blog would add a lot to each other's readership experience, yours is very well done.

  2. Thanks. I liked the "Historical figures as basketball players" idea you did as well. Might I suggest Jesus? Or perhaps Gandhi? Those guys would've been the greatest passers/assist men in the game with their "do unto others" philosophies.

And I did see the thing ESPN did, and I thought it was very poorly done and hastily thrown together. Moses Malone on the Hawks? Really? Barkley on the Sixers, Suns, AND Rockets? Come on... It was just all very lame and tied together with a "let's just let everyone vote... and then just give it to Jordan" mentality. I'm not saying the Bulls won't win my tournament, cause they might, but even with Jordan I don't think the Bulls stack up to the Lakers, Celtics, or Sixers. Maybe not even the Spurs or Warriors either. I had the idea to do this way before I saw ESPN's thing, but theirs motivated me to actually get it done and try to do it really really well.

And I'm using WhatIfSports to simulate the actual games. I use basketball-reference for almost everything else, but as far as I know they don't have a simulator. BB-R was my main resource in determining the teams' rosters though.
