Well the Bulls certainly have more guys than the Bobcats, but we're still not getting anywhere close to Boston Celtics territory.

Derrick Rose and the History of the MVP
Derrick Rose is almost certainly going to win the 2011 MVP. It's been a fairly consistent, recent trend that you could determine the league's MVP by the All-Star break, and almost certainly after about 60 games. I think the close Nash/Shaq vote in 2005 was the last time the winner was really up in the air until the votes were counted. Now, I'm not going to argue whether or not Rose deserves to be the clear cut front runner. He's certainly one of a handful of players this year who could win it and ten years from now, no one would argue that someone else was robbed. He has great numbers and he's carried a team to the (currently) second best record in the East without it's second and third best players (Boozer and Noah) for long stretches this year. So, if/when he wins, you'll have a hard time saying he didn't deserve it. However, I don't think enough is being made of how absolutely crazy it will be if this guy wins. Take a look at some of these numbers.

(#3) Bulls - (#1) Lakers Series
Alright, let's see what happens. Can Jordan, the greatest player of all-time, carry a team including Pippen (who I have as #22), the vastly underrated Artis Gilmore and Chet Walker (#62 and #71 respectively), and a whole lot of role players (at best) over a team with 12 potential Hall of Famers and five of the top 12 (Kareem - #2, Magic - #4, Shaq - #6, Kobe - #10, West - #11) of all time? (P.S.: the rest of the team's not too shabby either: Baylor - #21, Mikan - #52, Worthy - #53, Gasol - #61, Mikkelsen - #70, Goodrich - #102, and Pollard - #132) Let's find out.

(#4) Pistons - (#3) Bulls Series
I know the Western Conference is due for another series here, as I've been hitting the East pretty hard lately, but after the Pistons recent "Upset of the Century" over what I thought was probably the best top to bottom team in this thing, I know that every basketball fan in the nation is on the edge of their seat, wondering if they can continue their Cinderella run. It also begs the question, can it really be called a Cinderella run if everyone in the country hates you and wants you to lose? It'd be like if Duke made the NCAA tournament as a 16 seed and then managed to make it to the Final Four... It'd certainly fit the bill of a classic Cinderella team, except for the fact that everyone not associated with Duke would be rooting for them to lose. I'm not even sure what I'd call that phenomenon. Also, if the Pistons end up winning this thing, I may have to murder Isiah Thomas. Don't worry. I'm kidding. And if I'm not, I'll make sure to do it in New York so no jury would convict me. I can see the New York Times headline now: Isiah Thomas Murdered Over Mock Basketball Tournament; Statue of Accused Erected Outside Madison Square Garden. Anyway, lets get to the games, where I'll root for Michael Jordan as the lesser of two evils.

The last of the semifinals. Are we in for another massive upset? The Wizards have the size (4 Hall of Fame big men), but the Bulls have Jordan. What wins?

(#11) Heat - (#3) Bulls Series
I'm not a mathematician but I'm pretty sure this equation is accurate "Ultimate Bulls > Ultimate Heat." I know the Heat lamely tried to steal some of Michael Jordan's mojo by retiring his jersey (look it up, it happened. Nobody on the Heat can wear #23...), but I'm buying into their ploys. The Heat might steal a game, maybe even two, but this series is gonna go to the Bulls. Let's find out if I'm right

I'm still playing with the formatting on these a bit, but I think this is how they're going to look from now on.

Our first sweep. I think we all could have expected this. Although Game 4 was won by only 1 point, which seems unlikely for a Jordan led team against a terrible team in a close out game. (Obviously WhatIfSports doesn't realize I'm doing a 7 game series, and it just thinks I'm playing out multiple individual games, but still...) Up next for the Bulls will be the winner of Heat-Hawks.
